Delhi Zoo veterinarian Paneer Selvam said on Thursday: “The cub is doing well and the general public will be able to see Tejas from Friday onward. We think he will be a great addition to the zoo, especially for children. The cub had come to us from the Amangarh forest range in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, and was hand-reared at Delhi Zoo.”

The cub, he added, had strayed into a village near the forest along with its mother and sibling and got left behind. Later when the mother did not come back to claim the cub, the villagers handed over the cub to forest officials.
